
Blue Shark
Scientific Name: Prionace glauca.
It has a tapered and slender body, with its head flattened on its back ventrally. The muzzle is long and conical. The gill slits are five and small; gill papillary protrusions present. The nostrils are located at an intermediate distance between the mouth and the apex of the muzzle. The relatively large eyes have the nictitating membrane.
It inhabits temperate and tropical deep waters all over the world.
Seasonality: summer-autumn.
